The pass in practice

You do not need a published Edge Share number to follow the arithmetic of the Draw Fee. The schedule itself is on-chain; this page traces two stretches to the unit.

A busy stretch

Three fills of 500 WHET land in sequence. Each fill leaves a Draw Fee of ten WHET of value (two percent of 500). Fill one reads Pass Count N and hones the Edge Share published for N. The count becomes N+1. Fill two reads N+1 and hones a share that is equal or higher — never lower. Fill three reads N+2. After the stretch the floor is older, and the next fill hones at least as strictly.

A quiet stretch

No fill arrives. The Pass Count does not move. The Edge Share stays at the value last published for that count. Nothing is honed. The next fill of 500 WHET still leaves a Draw Fee of ten WHET of value, and it reads the same Pass Count the quiet stretch began with.
